MILZIPAN

Well, since marzipan is pricey around here, and plastic icing isn’t much of a taste, here is Milzipan. This is actually milkdough. It can be eaten as milk candy, or as decorating pieces for cakes or cupcakes.
It can be shaped pretty much into anything you want, but here I made a rose.

Ingredients:

Powdered Full Cream Milk

Sweet Condensed milk

Icing sugar, optional

Food coloring, optional

Flavoring essence of your choice, optional

Cornstrach, if necessary

METHOD:

Pour condensed milk into a container.

Add Food coloring. Add the flavoring essence if you like.

Stir until incorporated

Gradually add the powdered milk. Stir into a dough consistency. The dough should be firm but pliable, but not sticky. If its still too sticky add a little cornstarch.

Put on food grade gloves. Lightly knead the dough.

Divide dough into about seven equal part.100_3180

Form dough balls

Flatten the dough100_3183

Take one piece of dough and curl.100_3184

Make petals by slightly overlaping the flattened  dough.

Form into a Rose

Cut the stem

Make another dough for the leaves.

Cut using cookie cutter

Assemble the Rose and the leaves together. Can be use for cupcake or cake decoration.
